Shanker was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2013. He began his legal career with Azim, Tunku Farik & Wong before continuing at J.R. Ravendran & Associates, gaining broad exposure to criminal and civil litigation.
In 2015, he joined S.K. Sundaram & Partners, working alongside his father, where he gradually shifted his focus to family law, helping individuals and families navigate some of the most emotionally challenging moments of their lives.
From 2018 to 2021, Shanker served as Chairman of the Young Lawyers Committee of the Selangor Bar, organising professional development programmes and representing young practitioners.
